We're Scouts and everyone is welcome here. Every week, we help people develop skills for life.
Are you ready to join the adventure?
Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience & skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

Our Scout Group - 1st Hirwaun Scouts
Congratulations to Iestyn Pugh from our Explorers, who has successfully completed the prestigious Explorer Belt. One of the highest awards in the worldwide Scouting movement. Fully funded through the Welsh Government’s Taith programme and organised by ScoutsCymru.
The 10-day expedition took place in Bavaria, Germany, where Iestyn worked as part of a small team of Explorer Scouts travelling independently, planning routes and activities, and demonstrating skills including navigation, budgeting, first aid and expedition cooking.
Throughout the challenge, he represented Cynon Explorers and the Hirwaun community with pride, showing confidence, resilience and teamwork every step of the way.
Scouts Cymru has been awarded the title of “Best Organisation” at this year’s Welsh Charity Awards. The announcement video features our thriving Scout Group in Hirwaun village, highlighting the commitment, teamwork, and strong community values that underpin Scouting across Wales. This recognition reflects the dedication of our volunteers, the enthusiasm of our young people, and our ongoing mission to deliver skills for life in every community we serve.
