Friday 6:30 - 8:30
When you join Scouts, you'll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. Here's everything you need to know.
All of our volunteers are trained to make Scouts the best it can be, but we don’t just need swashbuckling adventurers to lead our expeditions. We also need tidy-uppers and tea-makers and great listeners from all walks of life – for as much or as little time as they can spare.
Scouts start small but think big, always challenging themselves to do more and be more. It starts with an award. Who knows where it might lead?
Scouts make up the third section of the Scouting movement.
While in Scouts, members can earn a variety of badges and awards, with the main focus on Challenge Awards. These awards are designed to help Scouts develop essential Scouting skills and support personal growth. After earning at least five Challenge Awards, Scouts can work toward the highest honor in the section, the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
Master something you love, or try something shiny and new. If it spurs you on or stirs your interest, we’ve probably got a badge for it.
From caps and backpacks to water bottles and blanket badges to celebrate your adventures, we have it all. Personalise your items so they don't get lost!
Scout uniform consists of a shirt with your badges sewn on and a necker to represent your local group.
Uniform can either be bought from Scout Store or from a local supplier. You can also, if you're stuck, ask adult volunteers to tell you more, they will be more than happy to help.
Scouts wear a uniform during their weekly meetings and sometimes on trips away, depending on where they're going and what they're doing.
Usually, this consists of a teal green shirt or blouse with their badges sewn on, which they pair with a scarf, known as a necker.
To be invested as a Scout you'll have to learn the Scouts Law & Promise and it's always
handy to know our motto!
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Cubs and embrace your next big adventure.
