When you join Cubs, you'll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. Here's everything you need to know.
All of our leaders are trained volunteers, working to make sure Scouting is safe, inclusive and accessible. Some lead the Pack week in and week out. Others visit occasionally to help run a session or drop in to share their skills.
Completing awards challenges you to do more, learn more and be more. See what's on offer and start your journey to the top.
Our Cubs typically join the section at age eight and transition to Scouts between the ages of ten and eleven. They can either move up from Beavers around the age of eight or start directly in Cubs without any prior experience as a Beaver.
Their activities focus on mastering new skills, trying new things, and having fun through exciting adventures. Cubs build friendships, stay curious about the world around them, and learn the importance of helping others, making a difference in their communities and beyond.
Become an expert in something you love, or try something shiny and new. There's a badge to suit each and every Cub.
From caps and backpacks to water bottles and blanket badges to celebrate your adventures, we have it all. Personalise your items so they don't get lost!
Cubs uniform consists of a green sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a necker to represent your local group.
Uniform can either be bought from Scout Store or from a local supplier. You can also, if you're stuck, ask adult volunteers to tell you more, they will be more than happy to help.
Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means you can run around and get messy without ruining your other clothes. It makes you feel part of a team.
It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and it gives you a place to show off all the brilliant badges you earn.
To be invested as a Cub you'll have to learn the Cubs Law & Promise and it's always
handy to know our motto!
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Cubs and embrace your next big adventure.
